Analysis of EMG Signal for Prosthetic hand based on Fuzzy Logic Technique

Lidská ruka je koncový orgán horní končetiny, který slouží k důležité funkci uchopení, stejně jako důležitý orgán pro vnímání a komunikaci. Je to úžasný příklad o tom, jak komplexní mechanismus může být implementovaný, schopný chápat velice komplexní a užitečné úkoly používáním velmi efektivní kombinace mechanismů, snímání a řídicích funkcí. Elektromyogram (EMG) byl původně vyvinutý pro vyšetrování svalnatého nepořádku. Klinické aplikace se brzo rozšířila, nejpozoruhodněji ve výzkumu epilepsii a nakonec se stal populární po zavedení protéz, specificky tělem poháněných protéz. EMG nahrávání je použito pro studování funkčního stavu svalu během různých pohybů. Cílem tohoto projektu je vyvinutí elektromyogramové (EMG) metody třídění, která bude pomáhat v aplikacích jako systém pracující v reálném čase. První část tohoto projektu bylo získávání informací. Údaje reálného času byly zaznamenaný pomocí EMG monitorovacího systému (BIOPAC) a kompletní datová sada různých osob byl zaznamena. Tyto EMG data byly konvertované ze souboru ASCII do čitelné formy pro MATLAB. Druhou částí projektu byla extrakce vlastností. Pět tradičních parametrických rysů bylo vypočítáno, jmenovitě Integrovaný EMG (IEMG), variance (VAR), Zero Crossing (ZC), Slope Sign Changes (SSC) a Vlnová délka (WL). Třetí část projektu byla klasifikace EMG vzorů s použitím fuzzy logiky. Výsledky jsou docela slibné.
Possibilities of pulmonary rehabilitation for oncological patients after lung resections

The lung carcinom is one of the most common types of cancer in male population of the Czech Republic. The usual signs are chest pain, stuffiness, hoarseness and coughing. Lobectomy is usually done to the patients with smaller tumors. It is important to ensure the right preoperative education of the excercises. The priority after the operation is pain therapy, removal of the increased amount of phlegm, support of expectoration, improvement of the ventilation parameters and prevention of post-operative complications. The selected objective of this thesis was to map the problematics of pulmonary rehabilitation of oncological patients after lung resections and also to suggest an approach to the pulmonary rehabilitation of oncological patients after lung resections. The theoretical part describes the anatomy of primary and auxiliary respiratory muscles, the characteristics of the lung carcinoma and its chirurgical therapy and the techniques of pulmonary rehabilitations including different physiotherapeutic concepts like soft and mobilization techniques, the Brügger concept, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and kinesiotaping. The practical part is consisted of qualiative research in which three oncological patients after the lung resetions participated. The research includes trigonometric and anthropometric examinations, muscle test, measurement of maximal exhaling and maximal inhaling pressure, the Borg's scale of percieved exertion and saturation of hemoglobin from oxygen. The therapy began the day before operation and ended before discharge on the seventh to eighth day. The results went back to previous values before the operation in some of the parameters and there were no negative effects of the therapy. It is safe to say that the therapy had a positive effect on the patients without any complications.
Comparative amount of muscle mass and involvement preferential and dominant lower limbs in the Wingate test and jump test in adolescent runners

This graduation thesis deals with the comparison of the amount of muscle and lower limb performance of runners on medium and long distances. 25 athletes aged 18,12 +- 4,51 years are tested, who are tested once on a step weight Tanita, they are also subjected to the Wingate test on a bicycle ergometer, test on the reaction platform, the measurement of lower limb segments and the writing and kicking test. To compare the relationship between muscle mass on lower limb, fat mass on lower limb, muscle mass and performance in the Wingate test, muscle mass and Jumpmax test, muscle mass and circumference of lower limb segments, lower limb circumference and Jumpmax test, lower limb circumference and Wingate test, Jumpmax test and the Wingate test uses the Pearsons correlation coefficient. Based on the research, it was found that lower limb with a larger proportion of muscle mass does not perform significantly higher performance than the other limb. It was found that a jump from a limb with more muscle mass does not reach the higher jump from a limb with more muscle mass. It was found that probands do not achieve significantly higher jumps in the Jumpmax test from limbs with larger muscle circumference. Probands do not reach significantly higher in the Wingate test from limbs with a larger power circumference. Furthermore, it was found that the height of jump from one limb in the Jumpmax test does not correlate with the performance of that limb in Wingate test. In 52 % of athletes, a connection was found between the more powerful lower limb in the Wingate test, the preferred lower limb in the kicking test and the preferred lower limb in the rebound.
Possibilities of using compensatory aids in children with spinal muscular atrophy

Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a genetically conditional, rare disease that causes muscle weakening. The disease starts to develop at an early age depending on the disease type. SMA manifests with gradual muscle weakening, when the muscle weakness is symmetrical and more occured in the area of the muscles of rather the cingulum membri inferioris than cingulum membri superioris. This disease limits children in everyday life, they are dependent on a wheelchair, on the help of another person when getting dressed, doing hygiene and gradually, they need help when doing every regular activity. The selection of suitable compensatory aids and targeted physiotherapy is very important in case of these patients. The main objective of the work is to map the possibilities and utilizations of compensatory aids in case of SMA patients and based on the kinesiological analyses, suggest suitable compensatory aids and find out the effectivity of the aids used. The theoretical part is focused on the disease description, its symptoms, diagnostics and treatment possibilities. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, I mention the most common musculoskeletal issues in SMA patients, the possibilities of rehabilitation treatment and compensatory aids, that are very important in case of SMA patients. The practical part is based on qualitative research, where the casuistries of four children with spinal muscular atrophy are processed. The research consists of a kinesiological analysis, anamnesis, the examination of aspects, palpations and a motor skill test was also done, (Hammersmith SMA-functional motor scale). Based on the examination, the effect of the so far used compensatory aids was evaluated. In the practical part, I was also finding out, in the form of an interview, information about compensatory aids. I was interested in the opinion of parents, on the availability and effectiveness of the aids and furthermore, I was interested in the specific aids children have been using or used.
The role of branched-chain amino acids in nutrition of strength athletes

These are a significant group of essential amino acids - branched chain amino acids, including leucine, isoleucine and valine. There is evidence to suggest that supplementation of branched amino acids can be very beneficial for synthesis and reduction of muscle protein degradation in strength athletes. On the other hand, there are studies to find that BCAA supplementation is not useful for restoring damaged muscles and alleviating pain after exercise as expected. The aim of this work is to summarize the issue of branched amino acid metabolism and to compare their effects when used in the form of BCAA supplements in strength athletes. Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke

Title: Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to obtain, to analyse and process the data on the activity and involvement of selected measured muscles, working during one rowing stroke - in the drive part and in the recovery part. Methods: The work is processed by a kinesiological analysis of selected movement of the rowing stroke, based on the determination of muscle activation. Electromyography method was synchronized with the video recording. Results: Based on the sequences of the muscle activation was described their order and sequence in the actual shot of the rowing stroke (drive phase and recovery). We have proved that in the rigorous technical performance are always activated the same muscles in the exactly same order. Individual deviations from the correct technique in measuring appeared and thus enable their correction. Keywords: Electromyography, stroke, rowing, muscles.

Reasons for entering of individuals into the fitnes center

The main theme of this thesis is to find out the reasons which leads different people to enter the fitness centres. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to a brief history of fitness and fitness centres, then the main focus is on the reasons of people to decide to go to a fintess centre. The key words are explained there. Lastly, the system of primary methods while using diagnosis equipment before a person enters a fitness centre is explained. The second part deals with finding out the actual reasons of various people for entering a fitness centre through the method of survey.
